About Us

History

The Indiana Retail Council is a not-for-profit association, supported entirely by members' dues, that has been improving the business climate for Indiana retail merchants since 1961. The IRC is uniquely attentive to the needs of Hoosier retailers and has worked to enhance Indiana's retail community and help ensure a stable business environment with economic growth.

Mission

The Council represents both large and small retailers across the state, from multi-state chains to locally owned independent stores. Our governmental affairs experts voice the interests of retailers before the Indiana General Assembly while our wide range of programs and seminars assist merchants in maintaining a competitive and profitable position in the marketplace.
